Must See: Snakes On A Plane

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

After witnessing the brutal murder of a prosecutor by gangster Eddie Kim (Byron Lawson) and his band of thugs, Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips) is escorted by FBI agents Neville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson) and John Sanders (Mark Houghton) to testify in a highly-publicized case in Los Angeles.
Despite increased security for the flight, Kim arranges for
time-release crates full of venomous snakes to be placed in the cargo
hold of the plane, a Boeing 747-400
(although the interior used features spiral stairs, typically found in
the -100 and -200 models of the 747), on which Jones will be flying
from Honolulu to Los Angeles. The leis given to the passengers by airport staff upon their departure had been secretly sprayed with pheromones to make the snakes more aggressive in an attempt to bring down the plane before it reaches its destination.

Most of the supporting passengers and crew members are introduced at
this point. The passengers include health-obsessed rapper 3Gs (Flex Alexander), with his two bodyguards Troy and Big Leroy (Kenan Thompson and Keith Dallas), a rich girl Mercedes (Rachel Blanchard) with her dog, Mary Kate, a Latin woman (Elsa Pataky)
named Maria travelling with her baby, two young boys, Curtis and Tommy,
who are travelling by themselves for the first time, Chen Leong (Terry
Chen), a kickboxer, and Paul (Gerard Plunkett), a British businessman
who is unhappy with being moved from first-class to coach (all the
first-class passengers have moved back this way so that Flynn and Sean
can have the section to themselves to guarantee Sean’s safety). The
crew include Claire Miller (Julianna Margulies) who is leaving after the flight to become a lawyer, Grace (Lin Shaye), a senior attendant, Ken (Bruce James), a flamboyant crew member who displays effeminate behaviour, and Tiffany (Sunny Mabrey), a young, attractive attendant who flirts with Sean.

The crate opens midway through the flight and the snakes make their way throughout the cabin due to a tampered-with access hatch,
killing numerous passengers, the pilot, and Agent Sanders. The
surviving passengers flee first to the front of the airliner, putting
up a blockade of luggage, but when the snakes break through due to
turbulence caused by the co-pilot being attacked by a snake, they flee
upstairs to the first class area, hoping it will be safer. As they are
making their way up the stairs, a Burmese python
falls into the cabin from the lighting panel where it was hiding. Paul
tries to distract the python by flinging Mercedes’ dog, Mary Kate, into
the python’s jaws. The tactic only provides a momentary distraction and
Paul is also eaten by the snake.

Agent Flynn contacts FBI Special Agent Hank Harris (Bobby Cannavale) on the ground, who arranges for emergency crews to be waiting at Los Angeles International Airport. Agent Harris then calls ophiologist Dr. Steven Price (Todd Louiso),
who identifies the snakes based on pictures Agent Flynn sends him via a
smartphone belonging to Mercedes. It is learned that the deadly crate
was full of exotic snakes from around the world, which leads the FBI, with Agent Harris and Dr. Price in command, to a man named Kraitler (Darren Moore), who is the only person in the Los Angeles
area who would be capable of gathering the rare snakes found on the
plane. Agent Harris extracts a confession from Kraitler, who says that
he was the person who illegally obtained the snakes for Kim’s use. He
is then taken into custody, with his stock of antivenom being commandeered for the surviving snakebite victims aboard the plane.

Meanwhile, Flynn goes into the bottom of the plane in order to
restore the air conditioning/ventilation, without which the plane would
overheat and plummet into the ocean. While searching for the switch, he
discovers that a mechanical panel was intentionally left open to allow
the snakes to reach the cabin where the passengers were located. Upon
returning, he finds that the surviving copilot, Arch (David Koechner)
has been killed by the snakes. Neville Flynn loses his temper and
orders all the passengers to strap into their seats, while he uses his pistol to shoot out two windows, which causes the plane to depressurize, blowing the snakes out of the plane.

Flynn and Troy then take the controls and land the plane at Los
Angeles International Airport, thanks to Troy’s 2,000 logged hours on a
PlayStation 2 flight simulator.
Once the plane lands, the passengers ride the yellow exit slides to
safety. As Agent Flynn and Sean depart the plane, a final snake drops
from overhead and bites Sean. Agent Flynn draws his gun and shoots the
snake, causing Sean to tumble down the slide. Paramedics rip open
Sean’s shirt to reveal a bulletproof vest
with two bullets embedded in it. As the passengers and crew depart,
Agent Flynn decides to repay Claire by taking her out for dinner.
Tiffany kisses Sean and gives him her phone number. Ken, who is assumed
to be gay throughout the movie, is seen kissing his girlfriend, and
everyone reacts with surprise. The film’s closing scene features Jones
and Flynn surfing, presumably in Bali.

Yesterday something strange happened. While I was on my way
to pick my aunt up from her home, something heart warming happened. It kind of
leaves a very deep impact on me.

There was this woman trying to cross the street while we
just reach the junction turning into Cheras Utama. To be exact she was an old
lady. There was this taxi stopped in front of us as the old lady waving to it.

What was really the stressed issue in this situation?

Well, we have to stop as the taxi stopped in front of us. We
would have done it out of courtesy but what amazes us is we saw someone exactly
the same stopping at the other direction to let her pass as well. The previous car
before the car at the opposite direction makes no effort to slow down. SO
basically HE’S A JERK! For god sake if you have no plan to stop then please
slow down! Cant you see those signboard!

From this situation, I was rather touch as there were still
individual caring enough. You can imagine a world with more of this people and
what they can do for the society.

That morning is a very special morning. You see, my mom
called my dad to inform him she’s fetching me to school (before the incident
above happen). She also informed my dad she won’t be cooking as she was
thinking to eat out with my aunt for lunch. She didn’t mention eating out to
daddy and well guess what daddy’s response was?

He pretended shock and say “WHAT! Then what about me? Are
you starving me to death? I don’t want to starve to death…” Lol first time
hearing my dad say something like that the conversation of course ended with
him saying ok. Well this is rare ;)

Few days before, he did something strange too he bought
ginseng for us? I was like “What the hell was that for? I’m still young he can
keep it for himself” Mom said “See so many years and the first time your dad
bought ginseng home is for you not for me, make me jealous only!” Wahahaha you
know the process of making this ginseng into powder? What ever you call it,
well dad did that too! Love you dad. Well godpapa and daddy don’t have to do
that and I’ll still love you too ;)

Despite all the stress thank god something wonderful happened to cheer me a little. The worst part of yesterday was a sprain in the ankle the result of it, Well = below…300806_0905_1

Somewhere someone somehow

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Let me share with you,

Somewhere around this time of the year I’m always left speechless…
Somehow around this time of the year the wound bleeds lead to the endless heartache…
Someone around this time of the year walk and left a deep foot prints in my memory…

Someone like both of my grandmother left me this time of the year,
Someone like you reminds me of the dark months in my life,
Someone like you reminds me of the unfond memories,
Someone like you AH! left me with a broken heart.

Somewhere around this time of the year I lost one of my best friend,
Somewhere around this time of the year I have my exams (usually never ends well),
Somewhere around this time of the year the urge to be there appears,
Somewhere around this time of the year I lost the largest gamble in life
and in the end somewhere around this time of the year Ithe heart ache so terribly it hurts…

Somehow I grow accustome to it,
Somehow it becomes a habit that somewhere around this time of the year it reminds me of you…

No name: I’m a failure in life but I pass all my papers

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Today someone left a message in my blog. I do not know who this person is but somehow there was a little sting at heart. Reasons as to why there was this painful stab felt, I dont think I know why.

I’m not very successful myself but believe me, you are not the failure you think you are. At least you pass all your papers and I didnt! See! So if you pass all your papers and you consider that a failure then I guess I must have been worst than a failure. Oh wait? I must have been a trash then ;( Hey or did you intended to tell me that I’m a trash from the begining? Oh well, forget it. Be confident! I’m sure you can do it ;) I promise I’ll pray for you like I do for everyone.

Well, to this no name person, out there if you ever need someone to listen to you, you can count on me (that is if you allow me to be the one you talk to). Do not lock yourself up. Allow me to reach out to you and your heart. If its not too much, do think of me when you’re down. I want to be a supportive friend ;) Again if its not too much…

Do hope you’ll be fine and do take care.

**ps: msg my friendster lo maybe we can be friends too ;)

Fear of the uncertain

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Examinations round the corner. Without me noticing, the semester 1 of year 3 is soon going to end. The thought of this usually makes me sick to the toe. After going through a tough Industrial training period back in Kedah (Although its a good experience) returning only to realise the sem is almost through…

I am scared… because this is already year 3 the time when the last shot is call. Either you make it through or you will risk not finishing your degree. I’m scared cuz I dont think I can make it… I’m scared because I have no confidence in myself. I didnt know what is it I have learn… I’m not sure how I fair for the sem? I didnt know how my test and quiz marks total to… I didnt know if its enough to assure me I’m passing for all subjects…

I’m not very sure of everything. I feel uncertain… The need to secure the position is there. But how far am I going to go to secure the position? The possibility of failing is there? The look of disappointment on your family’s face is unbearable… I… I.. erg forget it…

Along with all other factors, somehow I’m just not very sure. Is my will strong enough to pull me through? When I meet such situation like a loop I usually return to the same solution all over again. I always recall and telling myself I say "You are your dad’s daughter. Since young you are teach to be as tough as a guy. What is it a guy can do you cant? Dont forget your dad’s teaching. Dont disappoint him…"

I know I’ve got all the luck in the world. So I should at least believe I can make it; I can do it. I know my luck never fail me. So I should at least believe in myself and my capability as well… Please do not fail me. Despite the odds, despite all the continuous test of will, you have never fail yourself have you? I believe not. You just add to your experience.

Recall what is told. Remember it well…Do not forget. You will do just fine ;) Do not think of it. Forget it. Concentrate !!!

A Must See: “The Lake House”

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

The movie centers around lonely Dr. Kate Forster (Sandra Bullock)
who, on a winter morning in 2006, reluctantly leaves the beautiful lake
house that she has been living in for a job in a Chicago hospital. On
her way to Chicago, she leaves a note for the lake house’s new tenant
asking him to kindly forward her mail and telling him about the paw
prints by the front door and the box in the attic.

However, Alex Wyler (Keanu Reeves), the new tenant, sees a different
lake house, one which was neglected, dirty, and there were certainly no
paw prints. He disregards Kate’s letter until a few days later; he is
painting the jetty and a stray dog runs across the fresh paint leaving
paw prints where Kate said they would be. He writes back to Kate, only
to discover that they are separated in time by two years, with Alex
living in 2004 and Kate living in 2006.

As Kate and Alex continue to correspond through the mailbox, they
find themselves falling in love. Because Kate is in the future, she can
tell Alex where to look for her in 2004 in places she has been. In one
occasion she asks Alex to bring her back something important (a gift
for her father–her favorite novel), which she left two years ago
during a train station meeting with her then-beau. Alex goes to the
station and finds the item and sees Kate with long hair. Even though he
has the item, he does not place it in the mail box to return it to her
and he says that he will return it to her personally, "one way or the
other."

By the same dog that put prints on the jetty, Alex meets Kate’s
boyfriend Morgan and is invited to attend her birthday party. At the
party, Kate is frustrated with Morgan’s sincere but smothering ways;
she wanders outside, where Alex is sitting to try to figure out how to
let this earlier version of Kate know that her "letter paramour" is
here in person. Kate does not have any idea of who Alex is and their
future relationship in her own path of time. However, the two share a
dance and a romantic moment, only to be interrupted by Morgan.

Determined to bridge the distance between them at last and unravel
the mystery behind their extraordinary connection, they tempt fate by
arranging to meet. After a failed attempt at a "date" meeting at a
fancy restaurant in 2006, Kate backs off, thinking she will never have
happiness, and urges Alex to move on.

A 2006 incident at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago becomes a crucial moment in the efforts of the two erstwhile lovers to meet.

Jessica Simpson - You dont know what love is

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

You don’t know what love is.
Artist(Band):Jessica Simpson

Ah hoo. Oh, yeah yeah yeah yeah.
Oh ooh oh oh.

Last night I saw you as I stood in the rain
Brought me right back to that feeling again.
I tried to hide the tears in my eyes
But you didn’t see as you walked on by.
Tried to forget ya, I tried to move on.
But the deeper I’m feeling, the harder I fall.
Nothing else matters at all. Let me tell you.

You don’t know what love is till you lose it.
You don’t know what you抳e got till it slips away.
Leaves you alone in the dark and takes you and tears you apart.
You don’t know what love is till it breaks your heart.
Till it breaks your heart.

Sometimes I think back when our love was new.
The crazy things that we used to do.
How could love that’s so right turn to something so wrong
Still can’t believe that you’re really gone.
Wish I could stop all these thoughts in my head
Wish I could take back the words that I said
It’s a lesson I’ll never forget. Let me tell you.

You don’t know what love is till you lose it.
You don’t know what you’re got till it slips away.
Leaves you alone in the dark. Takes you and tears you apart.
You don’t know what love is till it breaks your heart.
Ooh ooh. Yeh.

Love has no season, no beginning nor end.
No rhyme or reason, to the way the story ends.
No way of knowing how a broken heart mends.
Still we keep fallin time and time again.

You don’t know what love is till you lose it.
You don’t know what you’re got till it slips away.
Leaves you alone in the dark. Takes you and tears you apart.
You don’t know what love is till it breaks your heart.
Till it breaks your heart.
Ah ooh. Till it breaks your heart.

A little patience will do.
